Metal Fest. Vagos becomes the "metal capital" until Sunday

Vagos Metal Fest returns, between this Thursday and Sunday, to Quinta do Ega, for four days that aim to make that municipality in the Aveiro district the “metal capital” of Portugal, with bands such as Mayhem, Hatebreed, POD and Candlemass.
The eighth edition of the festival will take place over four days, starting this Thursday with appearances on stage by, among others, the German band Destruction, the Irish band Gama Bomb and the Swedish band Candlemass (celebrating 40 years of existence), with a highlight being the return of the North American band POD.
On Friday, the headliners are national, with a highlight being Moonspell, on a day that also includes the North American bands Dying Fetus and Warbringer, plus the Italian band Rhapsody of Fire, among many others such as the Spanish band Angelus Apatrida and the Portuguese band Hills Have Eyes.
On Saturday, the lineup includes several representatives of punk and hardcore, from the national Mata-Ratos to the British The Exploited to the North American Black Flag (with only guitarist Greg Ginn coming from the original line-up and performing with Max Zanelly, vocals, David Rodriguez, bass, and Bryce Weston, drums).
Saturday's highlight goes to Norwegian band Mayhem, who are celebrating 40 years of existence with sets that include "songs that the band has never played live before," as the group announced last year in "De Mysteriis Dom Sathanas."
On Sunday, the highlights of the lineup are bands such as the Polish band Decapitated, the Norwegian band Gorgoroth and the North American band Hatebreed.
Ticket prices starting this Thursday are €69 for daily admission or €125 for all four days. Children under 11 are free, and there's a 50% discount for people with reduced mobility.
The festival is already scheduled to return in 2026, on August 7th, 8th and 9th, with Godsmack as the first headliners .
